Rizwan Uddin Addresses Students and EPFO Officers at NID and GNLU

Gandhinagar: Shri Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner and Chief Learning Officer (CLO) of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS), addressed postgraduate students at the National Institute of Design (NID), Gandhinagar, and Enforcement/Accounts Officers of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU).

On December 26, a special session on “Motivation through Goal Setting” was organised for postgraduate students at NID, Gandhinagar. The session was highly interactive and inspiring, with enthusiastic participation from students. Discussions focused on success and failure, setting challenging goals, and strategies to achieve them. Shri Rizwan Uddin highlighted discipline, willpower, a positive attitude, self-confidence, coordination, and consistency as key ingredients of success. The session was moderated by Dr Bhavin Kothari, senior official at NID. Shri Uddin expressed satisfaction over the keen interest shown by NID students in understanding and defining their personal and professional goals.

Earlier the same day, a four-week induction training programme for the sixth batch of EPFO Enforcement Officers/Accounts Officers was conducted at GNLU, Gandhinagar, in collaboration with PDUNASS, EPFO. The programme, which commenced on December 1, 2025, was attended by 62 officers.

As part of the training, 81 law-related sessions were conducted, providing a total of 121.5 hours of instruction. Training was delivered by 26 resource persons, including experienced EPFO officers. The curriculum covered a wide range of important subjects such as criminal law, civil law, the Evidence Act, constitutional provisions, principles of natural justice, the role of quasi-judicial authorities, the POSH Act, cyber law, procurement management, official language, contract law, labour laws, new labour codes, professional etiquette, and personal grooming.

On the final day of the programme, Shri Rizwan Uddin, RPFC-I, addressed the trainees in two sessions, explaining the roles and responsibilities of principal employers in relation to contractual employees. He elaborated on the subject with reference to key judicial pronouncements, including HSWCL vs RPFC (Calcutta High Court) and FCI vs RPFC (Delhi High Court). GNLU Registrar Dr Nitin Malik appreciated the efforts of Course Coordinator Shri Hardik Parikh and commended the discipline displayed by the trainees. The officers also shared their feedback in an open and informal environment.

In the concluding session, the officers were encouraged to work in the national interest, make optimal use of the knowledge gained, and focus on customer-centric service delivery. Shri Rizwan Uddin urged them to adopt a service-oriented, responsible, decisive, and cooperative approach in their roles at EPFO, while upholding the core values of justice and the rule of law.
