Prashant Kishor Demands Impartial Probe into Suspicious Death of Student in Patna Girls’ Hostel

Jehanabad/Patna: The case of the suspicious death of a student from Jehanabad, who was preparing for a medical entrance examination while staying in a girls’ hostel in Patna, continues to intensify. Following the incident, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor visited the victim’s village and met her family, demanding a fair, transparent, and thorough investigation into the matter.

Serious questions are being raised over the police’s initial handling of the case. The victim’s family has alleged that the student may have been sexually assaulted. While the post-mortem report is still awaited, the possibility cannot be ruled out at this stage. The incident has triggered widespread anger among local residents as well.

The victim’s family has further accused the current investigating officer of exerting pressure on them to withdraw the case. These allegations have cast grave doubts over the impartiality of the police investigation.

Speaking to the media after meeting the family, Prashant Kishor said that if there has been any lapse on the part of the police administration during the preliminary investigation, it must be rectified under all circumstances. He asserted that Jan Suraaj stands firmly with the victim’s family and that justice must be delivered to the girl at any cost.

Kishor also stated that he would accompany the family to meet senior police officials to demand an unbiased and in-depth probe. He warned that if justice is denied, Jan Suraaj will take all necessary and democratic steps within the framework of the Constitution.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of female students, hostel management systems, and the functioning of the police. At present, all eyes are on the post-mortem report and the direction the investigation will take in the coming days.
