Jeet Adani Highlights Vidarbha’s Transformational Potential at Advantage Vidarbha 2026

Nagpur ( Maharashtra) : Jeet Adani of the Adani Group addressed industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders at Advantage Vidarbha 2026 in Nagpur, outlining an ambitious vision for Vidarbha as a key driver of India’s future growth story.
Describing Vidarbha as a land rooted in “purity, refinement, and sacred strength,” Adani reflected on the region’s rich civilizational legacy—from ancient texts and cultural heritage to its administrative prominence with Nagpur serving as Maharashtra’s winter capital. He said Vidarbha’s historic strengths in knowledge, craftsmanship, and resilience position it well to emerge as a modern hub of industry, innovation, and connectivity.
Adani credited national and state leadership for accelerating the region’s development momentum. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on inclusive growth and infrastructure, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s transformative work in connectivity, and Maharashtra leader Devendra Fadnavis’s consistent focus on balanced regional development.
“Our presence in Vidarbha is not transactional; it is generational,” Adani said, emphasizing the Group’s commitment to energy security, job creation, and community upliftment aligned with national priorities.
Major Investments and Projects
Highlighting the Adani Group’s footprint in the region, Adani noted that Vidarbha lies at the core of India’s evolving energy landscape:
Tiroda Power Plant: Maharashtra’s largest 3,300 MW supercritical power plant, built to global efficiency and environmental standards.
Butibori Revival: Restoration of a 600 MW plant in 2025 to strengthen stressed power infrastructure.
25-year Power Supply Agreement: Ensuring 6,600 MW of dependable electricity for Maharashtra through a mix of solar and thermal energy.
One of the Group’s most ambitious commitments is the ₹70,000 crore Integrated Coal Gasification and Downstream Derivatives Complex at Linga, Kalmeshwar, expected to generate 30,000 direct jobs and boost India’s clean-energy and chemical manufacturing capabilities.
At Gondkhairi, Adani highlighted an underground mining project designed with minimal environmental impact, zero displacement, and extensive sustainability measures, including rainwater harvesting and large-scale tree plantation.
Logistics, Aviation, and Defence Boost
Adani also spoke about strengthening Vidarbha’s role as a logistics and aviation hub:
A 75-acre Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Borkhedi to reduce freight costs and enhance export competitiveness.
Acquisition of 24 border check posts to improve logistics efficiency across Maharashtra.
Expansion of the MIHAN MRO complex through the acquisition of Indamer Technics, positioning Nagpur as a global center for aircraft maintenance with FAA and DGCA certifications.
Community and Sustainability Focus
Through the Adani Foundation, initiatives across Gondia and Nagpur include primary healthcare, education, women’s empowerment through self-help groups, nutrition programmes, solar lighting, clean water access, and sports development.
Sustainability remains central, Adani noted, with zero-water discharge practices at Tiroda, reuse of fly ash for industrial and agricultural purposes, and a commitment to planting 100 million trees by 2030. Adani Energy Solutions is also targeting 60% renewable energy sourcing by 2027.
Vision for the Future
Adani concluded by stating that Vidarbha is poised not just to participate in, but to shape India’s long-term growth trajectory.
“Vidarbha is ready to transform its heritage into renewed economic and cultural power. The foundation is laid, the people bring the energy, and we stand as a long-term partner,” he said.
He reaffirmed the Adani Group’s commitment to building “an era of opportunity, resilience, and prosperity” in partnership with the people of Vidarbha.
