‘Rang-e-Sufiyana’ and 15-Day Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Salim Chishti Conclude with Devotion and Grandeur

Fatehpur Sikri (UP): The ‘Rang-e-Sufiyana’ cultural programme and the 15-day Urs Mubarak marking the 456th annual commemoration of Hazrat Sheikh Salim Chishti concluded successfully with deep devotion, spiritual fervour, and grand arrangements. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of devotees from across India and abroad, who tied threads of faith and immersed themselves in the rich Sufi traditions.
The atmosphere at the dargah was filled with spiritual energy, love, and communal harmony, as people from all religions and communities participated wholeheartedly, showcasing India’s Ganga-Jamuni culture.
Member of Parliament Rajkumar Chahar attended the event as the chief guest, while it was presided over by the sajjada-nashin of the dargah, Peerzada Arshad Fareedi Chishti. The Urs was organized under the patronage of Peerzada Ayazuddin Chishti, also known as Rais Miyan.
Addressing the gathering, MP Rajkumar Chahar emphasized the need to promote communal harmony and highlighted the importance of education, especially within the Muslim community. He stated that the dargah of Hazrat Sheikh Salim Chishti has always been a source of blessings and prayers, and events like ‘Rang-e-Sufiyana’ strengthen social unity and brotherhood.
In his presidential address, Peerzada Arshad Fareedi Chishti said that the message of Sufi saints is universal, rooted in love, tolerance, and humanity. He noted that the dargah has, for centuries, been a center of peace, love, and national unity, welcoming people of all faiths without discrimination. He also expressed his resolve to make the event even more grand in the future.

The 15-day Urs featured a variety of religious, spiritual, and cultural activities, including Sufi discussions, Fatiha, Qawwali, Chadarposhi, cultural performances, an Eid Milan समारोह, and a grand All India Mushaira. Renowned poets such as Majid Deobandi, Manzar Bhopali, and Moin Shadab captivated the audience with their recitations, while anchors Shazia Aleem, Alankrit Srivastava, and Abhishek Tiwari introduced the poets.
Additionally, noted Sufi singer Dr. Neeta Pandey and Syed Sahil Agha presented soulful renditions based on the works of Amir Khusro, Kabir, and Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar, earning wide appreciation. The event also saw the release of the book Divine Love by UK-based Sufi author Shaz Khan. The programme was hosted by Doordarshan anchor Sadia Aleem.
The celebrations concluded with the spiritual ritual of ‘Kul’, attended by a large number of devotees. Peerzada Arshad Fareedi Chishti performed the ritual at the dargah in the early hours. The participation of people from diverse backgrounds stood as a living example of the Sufi message of love, tolerance, and brotherhood.
