Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Celebrates Bengal Victory with Jhalmuri-Rasgulla Party, Says “Every State is Turning Saffron”

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday celebrated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s resounding victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections with a symbolic jhalmuri and rasgulla party at her office in the Delhi Secretariat.

The celebration was attended by several members of her cabinet and senior BJP leaders, who marked the occasion as a historic political milestone for the party.

Calling the victory a reflection of people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Gupta said the Bengal mandate has reinforced the BJP’s growing political footprint across the country.

“Every State is Turning Saffron”

Sharing a congratulatory message on social media platform X, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, every state in the country is increasingly embracing the politics of development and transformation.

She stated,
“With a hat-trick victory in Assam and now the formation of a BJP government in West Bengal, it is clear that people across India are placing their trust in Prime Minister Modi’s vision.”

Gupta extended her heartfelt congratulations to BJP workers and the people of West Bengal for what she described as a decisive mandate for change.

Victory Celebrated with Jhalmuri and Rasgulla

The celebration held symbolic significance, as jhalmuri had become a recurring cultural reference during Prime Minister Modi’s campaign speeches in West Bengal.

Keeping that connection alive, Rekha Gupta chose to celebrate the victory with traditional Bengali snacks — jhalmuri and rasgulla.

She said the occasion was not merely a political celebration but a tribute to the people of Bengal for voting in favour of transformation.

Active Role in Bengal Campaign

Rekha Gupta was among the BJP’s prominent campaigners during the West Bengal Assembly elections.

She addressed rallies and roadshows in key constituencies including Kharagpur and Durgapur, campaigning vigorously for BJP candidates.

During her speeches, she sharply criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government, raising issues related to alleged fear-based governance, corruption, and women’s safety.

Durgapur Tea Stall Visit Drew Attention

One of the notable moments from her campaign was her visit to a local tea stall in Durgapur, where she interacted with the woman owner.

The interaction gained traction on social media, with BJP supporters projecting it as a symbol of grassroots connect.

Gupta used the opportunity to engage directly with local residents and speak about the need for political change in the state.

Took Aim at TMC Over Kolkata Roadshow Incident

During one of her roadshows in Kolkata, an incident involving streetlights allegedly being switched off during her event had sparked controversy.

Gupta had accused Trinamool Congress workers of attempting to disrupt her programme.

Reacting to the incident, she had said it reflected the nervousness of the ruling party amid growing public support for the BJP.

“Bengal Wanted Change”

Throughout her campaign, Rekha Gupta maintained that the people of West Bengal were determined to bring political change.

In one of her speeches, she said:
“The people of Bengal have endured 15 years of fear, intimidation and insecurity. This time, they are ready to bring a government represented by the lotus symbol.”

She particularly highlighted concerns related to women’s safety, unemployment, and law and order, accusing the Trinamool administration of failing to address these pressing issues.

Celebration Sparks Political Buzz

The BJP’s victory in West Bengal has triggered celebrations across party units nationwide, with Delhi’s jhalmuri-rasgulla gathering emerging as one of the most talked-about symbolic celebrations.

Political observers believe the Bengal result is not just an electoral success for the BJP but a significant message for national politics.

For many, Rekha Gupta’s celebration at the Delhi Secretariat reflected the party’s belief that the Bengal verdict marks the beginning of a new political chapter in eastern India.
