ATM Booth Turns Into Salon, People Queue Up for ‘Hair Withdrawal’ Instead of Cash

Patna: A bizarre yet amusing shop in Danapur, near Patna, has become the latest sensation on social media. At first glance, the place looks exactly like an State Bank of India ATM booth — complete with the familiar blue signage, glass door, and ATM-style setup. But instead of an ATM machine dispensing cash, visitors are greeted by a barber skillfully cutting hair inside.

The unusual “Hair Cutting ATM” has gone viral online, with people jokingly calling it a place for “hair withdrawal” instead of cash withdrawal.

According to locals, the spot previously housed an SBI ATM that used to witness heavy customer footfall throughout the day. Some time ago, the bank vacated the premises and removed the ATM machine, but the signage and booth structure were left intact. Later, the property owner rented the vacant booth to a salon operator, who decided to keep the original ATM branding and creatively transform it into a hair-cutting salon.

Initially, many people were left confused. Several customers reportedly walked in expecting to withdraw cash, only to be surprised to find a barber at work instead.

Now, the quirky salon has become something of a landmark in Danapur. Youngsters are flocking to the spot to click pictures, shoot reels, and create social media content.

The internet has also had a field day with witty reactions. One user commented, “Bihar is not for beginners,” while another wrote, “Come to Bihar and experience it yourself!”

For anyone curious enough to try this one-of-a-kind “ATM salon” and go for a “hair withdrawal,” Danapur is the place to be.
