CM Yogi Warns Against Threats to Social Harmony, Says “Ravana and Maricha Ultimately Meet Their End”

Ayodhya/Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a strong statement during a Ram Katha discourse by Jagadguru Rambhadracharya in Ayodhya, emphasizing the importance of Lord Ram’s ideals, social vigilance, and cultural values.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister referred to concerns raised by the Kerala High Court in 2009 and 2011 regarding alleged cases of “Love Jihad,” stating that the court had expressed apprehensions about attempts to alter religious demographics. He noted that Uttar Pradesh enacted a stringent law on the issue in 2020 and stressed the need for continued public awareness and vigilance. He added that those who adopt Lord Ram as their ideal are assured of welfare and righteous guidance.

Yogi Adityanath said that Lord Ram represents the cultural and civilizational ethos of India. According to him, when viewed beyond political considerations and personal prejudices, the values associated with Lord Ram are deeply embedded in the traditions and social fabric of the country.

The Chief Minister further remarked that individuals who do not respect India’s values, traditions, and national interests cannot expect the country to serve as a refuge. He emphasized loyalty to the nation and respect for its cultural heritage as essential principles.

Drawing from the Ramayana, Yogi Adityanath said that Maricha and Ravana, despite being born into noble lineages, ultimately faced destruction because they acted against Lord Ram and the principles of righteousness. Referring to Ravana’s abduction of Sita, he said that Lord Ram made every effort to rescue her and, in the process, united different regions of the country. He described the episode as an enduring example of protecting women’s dignity and honour.

The Chief Minister said that the ideals demonstrated by Lord Ram continue to offer guidance in addressing contemporary social challenges and strengthening respect for women in society.

In a post on social media platform X, Yogi Adityanath also shared his experience of attending the concluding ceremony of the nine-day Shri Ram Katha Mahotsav in Lucknow. He said he had the privilege of listening to the sacred Ram Katha from Padma Vibhushan Jagadguru Rambhadracharya.

The Chief Minister praised the spiritual leader’s contribution, stating that just as Goswami Tulsidas awakened public consciousness during the medieval period, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya is carrying forward that tradition in the present era. He extended his heartfelt greetings and appreciation to the revered saint.
