Aprilia Unveils Special Edition Tuono 457, Bringing Legendary Heritage and Enhanced Comfort to Indian Roads

New Delhi: Aprilia India has launched the Special Edition of its popular Tuono 457, blending the iconic legacy of the 2006 Tuono 1000R with modern-day comfort, technology, and everyday usability. Introduced on World Motorcycle Day, the new motorcycle aims to redefine the mid-performance naked bike segment in India.

Since its debut last year, the Tuono 457 has established itself as a benchmark in the twin-cylinder naked motorcycle category. The 2026 Special Edition builds on that success by introducing a range of upgrades focused on rider comfort, ergonomics, and real-world practicality while retaining the performance-oriented DNA that Aprilia is known for.

Available in two striking new color schemes — Mamba Black and Puma Grey — the motorcycle draws inspiration from the legendary 2006 Tuono 1000R. The updated graphics, redesigned branding, and aggressive styling further enhance its streetfighter appeal.

Comfort and Rideability Take Center Stage

The Special Edition Tuono 457 comes equipped with an upgraded comfort package that includes an aerodynamic flyscreen, an adjustable brake lever, a redesigned rider saddle, a raised handlebar position, and refined suspension geometry. These improvements are aimed at delivering a more relaxed riding posture, reduced fatigue, and greater confidence during both urban commutes and long-distance journeys.

The elevated handlebar improves steering leverage and maneuverability, while the revised suspension setup has been specifically tuned for Indian road conditions, offering better absorption of potholes and speed breakers. Riders can also customize preload settings at both ends for a more personalized riding experience.

Performance Remains Uncompromised

At the heart of the motorcycle remains the proven 457cc parallel-twin engine, producing 47.6 hp (35 kW) and 43.5 Nm of torque. The powerplant is paired with a lightweight aluminum chassis, ensuring a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and agile handling characteristics.

The motorcycle also features advanced electronics, including ride-by-wire throttle technology, multi-level traction control, and a comprehensive TFT digital instrument cluster integrated with the motorcycle’s self-diagnostic system.

Aprilia Emphasizes Value and Technology

Speaking at the launch, Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., said the new Tuono 457 Special Edition has been developed with a strong focus on rider comfort without compromising the performance and precision that define Aprilia motorcycles.

He highlighted the motorcycle’s enhanced ergonomics, aerodynamic flyscreen, upgraded suspension setup, improved seating comfort, and adjustable controls as key features that make it suitable for both city riding and long-distance touring.

Graffi also described the Tuono 457 as one of the best value-for-money twin-cylinder naked motorcycles currently available in India, thanks to its segment-leading performance, advanced electronics, and premium engineering.

Premium Features and Accessories

The motorcycle comes equipped with adjustable LED lighting, an immobilizer-equipped ignition system, a modern TFT display with lap-timing functionality, and a range of optional accessories. These include a quick shifter, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic anti-theft system, USB charging socket, fork sliders, passenger seat cover, and helmet cable lock.

Extended Warranty for Peace of Mind

Aprilia has also announced a comprehensive warranty package of 4 years or 48,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. The company says extensive durability testing during development has ensured long-term reliability across all major components.

Pricing and Availability

The new Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition is priced at ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra) and is now open for pre-booking at select Aprilia dealerships across India.

With its blend of Italian styling, race-inspired engineering, enhanced comfort, and everyday practicality, the Special Edition Tuono 457 is poised to strengthen Aprilia’s position in India’s growing premium mid-performance motorcycle market.
