Akhilesh Yadav to Visit Ayodhya on October 8, to Attend Bhagwat Katha at Pawan Pandey’s Residence
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will visit Ayodhya on October 8. According to the proposed schedule, he will attend a Shrimad Bhagwat Katha being organised at the residence of former minister Tej Narayan Pandey alias Pawan Pandey.
The schedule released so far does not mention a visit to the Ram Temple. This has triggered political discussions, particularly as visits by prominent political leaders to Ayodhya have remained a subject of considerable political interest since the construction of the Ram Temple.
Visit Comes Ahead of 2027 Assembly Elections
Akhilesh Yadav’s Ayodhya visit comes at a time when political activities in Uttar Pradesh are gaining momentum ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The Samajwadi Party has declared Pawan Pandey as its candidate from the Ayodhya Assembly constituency.
Against this backdrop, the SP chief’s participation in a religious programme at Pandey’s residence is being viewed as significant from the perspective of the party’s local organisation and election preparations.
Ayodhya has long remained an important centre of political discourse between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party. Consequently, Akhilesh Yadav’s proposed visit is being closely watched in political circles.
Absence of Ram Temple Visit Sparks Debate
The absence of a Ram Temple visit from Akhilesh Yadav’s proposed itinerary has become a subject of political discussion. The BJP may raise the issue as part of its political narrative, while the Samajwadi Party is likely to project the visit as participation in a religious event and an opportunity to connect with local party workers.
However, no official reason has so far been given for the Ram Temple visit not being included in the schedule. Therefore, any political interpretation of the itinerary would be premature until the final programme or an official clarification is issued.
Akhilesh Yadav’s Ayodhya visit is therefore expected to attract attention not only for his participation in the religious programme but also for its potential political significance ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
