Every Delivery Takes 31-Year-Old Diksha Closer to Her Dream Café
New Delhi: For 31-year-old Diksha from Delhi, every delivery she makes as a Blinkit delivery partner is taking her one step closer to fulfilling her dream of opening her own café, ‘Sip & Dream’.
With nearly a decade of experience in the food and beverage industry, Diksha is now preparing to launch her café. Over the past four years, she has worked as a Blinkit delivery partner alongside her café job, using her earnings to build the capital required to turn her entrepreneurial dream into reality.
Diksha originally aspired to become a civil engineer. After completing Class 10, she enrolled in a diploma course. However, due to family circumstances, including her mother’s health, she had to discontinue her studies. She started earning at the age of 16.
She subsequently spent nearly a decade working in the café industry, gaining experience across different outlets and eventually rising to the position of café manager. Her hands-on experience in the sector gradually shaped her ambition to run a business of her own.
To raise the capital needed for her café, Diksha began working as a Blinkit delivery partner alongside her job at a café. She has now been associated with Blinkit for four years and has completed deliveries for more than 1,500 days on her scooter.
Currently, she works the 6 pm to midnight shift. She prefers this schedule because she finds it difficult to sleep at night and is allergic to exposure to sunlight during the day.
While her evenings are dedicated to deliveries, Diksha spends most of her mornings and afternoons preparing for the launch of her café. She has already found a suitable location and is now putting the final touches on the preparations for the opening.
Alongside her café preparations and delivery work, Diksha is also working towards another important goal—building a home for her family in her hometown of Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad.
Speaking about her aspirations, Diksha said, “For now, my only aspiration is to see ‘Sip & Dream’ open its doors. I want to be the first woman in my family not only to work for a living but also to establish a successful business of her own.”
Diksha’s journey reflects how determination, perseverance and the willingness to take on multiple roles can help turn a long-held dream into a tangible reality. From starting work at the age of 16 to managing cafés and making deliveries, she is now preparing to take her biggest step yet—as an entrepreneur.
