New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following his annual tradition, celebrated Diwali with soldiers stationed on the Gujarat border, boosting their morale by distributing sweets and delivering a motivating address. He emphasized that today, the country trusts in the resolve of its armed forces rather than in the words of adversaries, and that national policies are grounded in the determination of the military.
The Prime Minister arrived at the border in Kutch, Gujarat, where he conveyed Diwali greetings to the Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel and shared sweets with them. Notably, every year on Diwali, PM Modi visits soldiers stationed at the borders to offer his support and appreciation.

Highlighting efforts to enhance synergy among the three branches of the military, PM Modi noted that his government has established the post of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and developed an Integrated Theatre Command for better coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Speaking on the potential for border tourism, the Prime Minister mentioned its connection to national security, a subject rarely discussed. He emphasized that Kutch holds immense possibilities in this regard, with its rich heritage, natural beauty, and spiritual sites, which are truly nature’s gifts. The mangrove forests along Gujarat’s Gulf of Kutch and Gulf of Khambhat are also of great significance.
On the topic of self-reliance in defense manufacturing, PM Modi remarked that India is now producing its own submarines, and the Tejas fighter plane has become a formidable asset to the Air Force. While India was once known for importing arms, today it exports defense equipment to numerous countries worldwide.
As he extended his Diwali greetings, PM Modi conveyed heartfelt wishes to every soldier dedicated to the service of Mother India, acknowledging the gratitude of 1.4 billion citizens for their sacrifice and dedication.
He also praised the rich ecosystem of marine life and vegetation along Gujarat’s coast, noting that the government has taken steps to expand mangrove forests. “Our nation is a living consciousness, which we worship as Mother India. Thanks to the dedication and sacrifices of our soldiers, the country and its citizens are safe. Only a secure nation can progress. As we rapidly move towards the vision of a developed India, you all are the guardians of this dream.”
