Shah Rukh Khan Overcomes Smoking Addiction with Sheer Willpower
Mumbai : It’s often hard to tell when the fascination with smoking turns into an addiction. Quitting can then be quite challenging, but with strong willpower, breaking the habit is certainly possible. You may be surprised to know that Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, once smoked over 100 cigarettes a day, but he has now quit the habit through sheer determination.
Shah Rukh celebrated his 59th birthday on November 2 and met with fans at a recent meet-and-greet event. For the first time in 30 years, he announced during the event that he had quit smoking. “It’s a good thing, friends, I no longer smoke. I thought quitting smoking would make it easier to breathe, but I still feel a bit of difficulty. Inshallah, that will improve too,” he shared, also advising his fans to stay away from smoking.
After his recent blockbuster successes with Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan is set to return in 2026 with his next film, King, in which he will appear on screen alongside his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. While the release date for King hasn’t been officially announced, reports suggest it could be released on Eid 2026. Additionally, he is set to appear with Salman Khan in Tiger vs. Pathaan, which is expected to release in 2027.
