Chhath 2024 : Chief Minister Atishi Inspects Chhath Ghat at ITO with Officials
New Delhi: Chief Minister Atishi inspected the Chhath Ghat located at ITO on Monday, reviewing the ongoing preparations. On this occasion, she stated that there should be no shortage in the preparations for the Chhath Mahaparva in Delhi, and that all ministers, MLAs, and departments of the Delhi government are inspecting Chhath ghats throughout the city. The festival of Chhath is the most important celebration for the people from the Purvanchal region. The faith of not only the Purvanchali brothers and sisters but all Delhi residents is connected with Chhathi Maiya.
She emphasized that since the formation of Arvind Kejriwal’s government, the respect given to the Chhath Mahaparva in Delhi has been unprecedented. Until 2014, only 60 locations across Delhi had Chhath ghats constructed by the Delhi government. Now, under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, more than 1,000 magnificent Chhath ghats are being built across Delhi, with full arrangements overseen by the Delhi government. Atishi remarked, “Today, I have come to inspect the preparations at this Chhath ghat located at ITO. This is one of the most significant Chhath ghats in Delhi, where millions of devotees come to worship Chhathi Maiya.” She added that all MLAs and ministers are continuously inspecting all the Chhath ghats. “We hope that Chhathi Maiya’s blessings remain with all the people of Delhi.”
It is noteworthy that the Delhi government has prepared over 1,000 ghats throughout the city so that no individual needs to travel far from home to celebrate the festival of Chhath. The government is responsible for all essential arrangements at these ghats, including the construction of ponds, setting up tents, lights, cleanliness, and security. Additionally, many ghats will host cultural programs organized by the Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy to ensure that devotees can celebrate the grand festival of Chhath with joy, peace, and enthusiasm. During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed the officials to expedite the preparations at all Chhath ghats so that no work is left for the last minute and devotees do not face any difficulties.
