Yogi Government Creating Unemployment Instead of Generating Jobs by Privatizing Electricity

Lucknow: The Aam Aadmi Party’s Uttar Pradesh Chief Spokesperson, Vanshraj Dubey, has strongly opposed the state government’s proposal to privatize electricity. He stated that this move would not only render 50,000 contractual workers jobless but also burden consumers with expensive electricity.

Mr. Dubey remarked, “It is extremely unfortunate that on one hand, the state government is not offering new recruitments in public departments, and on the other, it is snatching jobs from the contractual employees who are already working. The unemployment of 50,000 workers will create a livelihood crisis for their families. This is an example of the government’s failure, which is causing unemployment instead of creating jobs.”

He further stated, “This government is prioritizing the profit of private companies over the welfare of the people. Rising electricity tariffs will pose a serious challenge for the common people of the state.”

Mr. Dubey expressed concern, saying, “The privatization of electricity will become a significant financial burden for the state’s citizens. Private companies may increase electricity rates, making it unaffordable for the common man. Higher electricity costs will exacerbate the struggles of poor and middle-class families.”

Drawing a comparison, he said, “On one side, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi is providing free electricity to its citizens, while on the other, the Uttar Pradesh government is pushing its people towards costly electricity and unemployment. By reducing electricity rates and offering free electricity, the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi has shown how a responsible government works for the welfare of its citizens. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government is ignoring the interests of the people.”

Mr. Dubey demanded, “The government should withdraw its decision to privatize electricity and protect the jobs of 50,000 contractual workers in the state. This move will not only increase unemployment but also put the people of the state in an economic crisis.”
