Now Women Will Receive ₹1,000 Every Month, Says Kejriwal – Will Increase to ₹2,100 After Elections

New Delhi: Ahead of the Delhi elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made an attempt to woo women voters. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that if the ruling AAP returns to power for a third term after the 2025 Assembly elections, ₹2,100 will be credited to the bank accounts of every woman aged 18 or above in the national capital. However, he added that despite the registration starting tomorrow, the amount will not be credited immediately as the important election dates will be announced in the next 10 to 15 days.

At an event with Minister Atishi, Kejriwal said, “I had previously promised to give ₹1,000 to every woman. However, some women came to me and said that ₹1,000 would not be enough due to inflation. Therefore, ₹2,100 will be deposited into the accounts of all women.” He also mentioned that the proposal was passed in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Atishi this morning, after which the plan was implemented.

Kejriwal further stated, “Today, I have come to make two major announcements for the people of Delhi. Both are for women. I had promised ₹1,000 to every woman. Today, the proposal was passed in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Atishi. Now, this scheme has been implemented in Delhi. The election announcement will be made in 10-15 days, so transferring the money to accounts is not possible immediately. Some women said that ₹1,000 would not be sufficient due to inflation. Therefore, from tomorrow, registration for ₹2,100 per month will begin.”

On the Delhi government’s ‘Women’s Empowerment Scheme,’ Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said, “This is a huge announcement for women. It was passed in the budget in March, but Arvind Kejriwal was jailed to stop it. There have been several attempts to block it, but today we have tasted success when the Delhi Cabinet passed it. This scheme has now been implemented in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal made a big announcement today that the ₹1,000 scheme will be increased to ₹2,100 next year.”
