Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi Says Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Believes in Dialogue, Calls His Personality ‘Vast’

Bhopal: Chief Imam of the All India Organization of Imams, Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, said that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat believes strongly in dialogue and has a vast personality. He said India’s unique strength lies in its diversity and social fabric, and that understanding India in its true sense requires an appreciation of its diversity, social traditions and spirit of dialogue.
Dr. Ilyasi said that the stronger dialogue becomes within society, the stronger mutual trust and social harmony will be.
He was addressing a function on Friday at the Manasrovar Auditorium in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly complex in Bhopal, where the book ‘Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Sandesh’, authored by senior journalist and writer Krishnamohan Jha, was released.
The book was formally launched by former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra and Dr. Ashok Kumar Varneshney, National Organisation Secretary of Arogya Bharati. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri and several distinguished personalities from different fields were also present at the event.
Dialogue Essential for Social Trust
Dr. Ilyasi said India’s social life has evolved through a combination of diverse traditions, ideas and cultures. In such a society, dialogue is essential to understanding one another. Dialogue, he said, is not merely a means of exchanging ideas but also a foundation for strengthening social trust.
Appreciating author Krishnamohan Jha’s efforts, Dr. Ilyasi said compiling Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s views on different subjects in one volume was an important initiative. Such efforts provide society an opportunity to understand a personality’s ideas in a broader context and can also help dispel several misconceptions.
He added that to understand any individual or idea, it is necessary to examine their views in different contexts. From this perspective, the book’s attempt to present Dr. Bhagwat’s views on a range of subjects is useful.
Book Analyses Bhagwat’s Views on Various Issues
The chief speaker, Dr. Ashok Kumar Varneshney, said books are generally written around a particular subject or personality. However, ‘Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Sandesh’ not only compiles Dr. Bhagwat’s views on various issues but also presents an analysis and conclusions based on those views.
He said the RSS has consistently engaged in dialogue with young people. Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s views on contemporary issues are important for society and inspire young people to understand their role towards the nation and society.
Focus on National Thought and Social Harmony
Mahamandaleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri said the book brings together Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s thoughts on national issues, social harmony and nation-building. He stressed the importance of understanding India’s broader cultural perspective and said the vision of Akhand Bharat could be realised through dialogue and exchange of ideas.
Former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra also praised the book, saying author Krishnamohan Jha had done important work by bringing Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s wide-ranging thoughts together in the form of a book.
He said, “Dr. Mohan Bhagwat is not merely an individual but an idea.” He described the effort to take his thoughts to readers as commendable.
Author Explains the Idea Behind the Book
Author Krishnamohan Jha said the idea of compiling Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s thoughts emerged after reading his speeches and statements on different subjects. The result of that effort is ‘Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Sandesh’.
He said the book prominently presents Dr. Bhagwat’s views on national thought, social harmony, nation-building, youth, dignity of labour, organisation and society. The objective, he said, was to enable readers to understand Dr. Bhagwat’s views not only in individual contexts but also in their broader perspective.
During the event, guests and distinguished attendees congratulated Krishnamohan Jha on the publication of the book. Speakers underlined that advancing dialogue through ideas is particularly important in the present times, and described the book as a useful initiative in this direction.
