New Delhi : Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) to facilitate the shifting of electrical utilities that fall along the upcoming Delhi-Panipat-Karnal Namo Bharat (RRTS) corridor.
The corridor, named the Delhi-Panipat-Karnal Namo Bharat Corridor, spans approximately 136.3 kilometers and features 21 stations—6 located in Delhi and 15 in Haryana. The corridor aims to deliver a seamless rapid transport system for the residents of the NCR. The Namo Bharat Train is designed to reach speeds of 180 km/h, with an operational average speed of 160 km/h and a frequency of trains every 5 to 10 minutes. The corridor consists of 124.82 km of elevated and 11.48 km of underground track. Travelers can expect an estimated journey time of around 90 minutes from Delhi to Karnal.

The corridor contains 38 EHV transmission lines at various voltage levels, including 765 kV, 400 kV, 132 kV, 66 kV, as well as several lines at 33 kV, 11 kV and 415 V. It also includes other electrical equipment, such as transformers. These facilities are managed by different agencies, including BSES, Tata Power-DDL, UHBVNL, HVPNL, Power Grid, BBMB, and JKTPL, which will need to be adjusted or moved to facilitate civil construction work in the corridor.
This strategic collaboration marks another significant step towards strengthening inter-agency coordination for large-scale infrastructure projects in the National Capital Region. It reflects Tata Power-DDL’s commitment to enabling sustainable urban infrastructure, supporting efficient mobility solutions and facilitating the timely development of critical public infrastructure while safeguarding the reliability and integrity of the electrical distribution network.
