Vehicle Entry to Mahakumbh Area Restricted on Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchami
Mahakumbh Nagar (UP) : In view of the large crowd expected at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela during the Mauni Amavasya and the second and third Amrit Snan festivals on Basant Panchami, all types of vehicles will be restricted in the Mela area for smooth movement and safety. However, this restriction will not apply to administrative and medical vehicles. This information was provided late Saturday night by Senior Superintendent of Police (Mahakumbh) Rajesh Dwivedi.
He stated that from 8 PM on January 26 to 8 PM on February 5, or until the crowd subsides, the movement of all vehicles, except administrative and medical ones, will be completely restricted in the Mahakumbh Mela area.
Devotees to Park Vehicles in Designated Areas and Walk to Ghats for Bathing
Vehicles of devotees visiting the Mahakumbh will only be allowed to park in designated parking areas.
From Jaunpur: Vehicles will be parked at Chini Mill Parking, Pure Surdas Parking (Garapur Road), Samayamai Temple Kachar Parking, and Badra Sonauti Rahimapur Marg Northern and Southern Parking. Devotees arriving from Jaunpur are advised to park their vehicles in these parking areas and walk to the Mela area via the Old GT Road.
From Varanasi: Vehicles will be parked at Mahuba Bagh Police Station Parking (Jhunsi), Saraswati Parking (Jhunsi), Nageshwar Temple Parking, Gyan Ganga Ghat Chhatnag Parking, and Shiv Mandir Ustapur Mahmoodabad Parking.
From Mirzapur: Vehicles will be parked at Devrakh Uparhar Parking, Tent City Parking, Omaxe City, and Gajia Parking (Northern and Southern).
From Madhya Pradesh, Banda, and Chitrakoot: Vehicles should be parked at Mahewa East and West Parking and Meerkhpur Kachar Parking.
From Kanpur and Kaushambi: Vehicles will be parked at Kali Extension Plot No. 17 Parking, Allahabad Degree College Parking, and Dadhikando Maidan Parking.
From Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Ayodhya, Gonda, Bahraich, and Basti: Vehicles will be parked at Gangeshwar Mahadev Kachar Parking, Nagvasuki Parking, Bakshibagh Kachar Parking, Bada Bagadha Parking, and IERT Parking (Northern and Southern).
After bathing at the Sangam, devotees will return via the Akshavat route and the interlocking return pathway to their respective destinations.
