1.56 Crore Voters to Cast Ballots at 13,766 Polling Booths in Delhi Assembly Elections

 

New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly elections are set to take place on February 5, with the Election Commission and administration fully prepared. A total of 1.56 crore voters are registered in Delhi, and 13,766 polling stations have been set up to facilitate the voting process. Additionally, for the counting of votes on February 8, 19 counting centers have been established across 11 districts.

Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer, R. Alice Vaz, held a press conference on Friday to provide updates on the election preparations. She confirmed that all arrangements for the assembly elections have been completed. Along with the 13,766 polling booths, 733 auxiliary polling stations have also been set up.

She further informed that the total number of voters in Delhi stands at 1.56 crore, including 83,76,173 male voters and 72,36,560 female voters. Additionally, there are 1,267 transgender voters, 12,736 service voters, and 79,885 differently-abled voters. The number of first-time young voters is 2,39,905.

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been established for the distribution of Elector’s Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to ensure smooth electoral processes.
