Imran Khan Rejects Dialogue Again, No Possibility of Talks with Government

Islamabad: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has once again dismissed the possibility of talks with the Shehbaz Sharif government. The chances of reconciliation between his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the government have now almost vanished.

Senior PTI leader Umar Ayub Khan made it clear that his party will no longer engage in any kind of negotiations with the government. In an interview with a television channel, Ayub stated, “The era of dialogue is over.” He further emphasized that political negotiations are not merely a formality; they require determination and commitment, which the government has failed to demonstrate.

Criticizing the government’s approach, Ayub said that PTI initiated the talks in good faith, but the lack of willingness and seriousness from the government led to an impasse.

This statement comes at a time when talks between PTI and the government have stalled. Discussions began in December 2024, but PTI has now refused to participate in further rounds. The party cited the government’s failure to form a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 riots and last year’s November protests as the reason for withdrawing from the talks.
