New Delhi: The deadlock between the government and the Opposition over a discussion on the NEET protests continues in Parliament. Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Opposition of disrupting parliamentary proceedings and said that the public should now decide who is running away from the discussion.

Amit Shah said that terms such as “missing” and “ran away” are increasingly being heard in India’s public and parliamentary discourse. He said that he has been regularly attending Parliament since the session began and sitting in his chamber, but when the Opposition is not allowing proceedings in either House to function, there is little that can be done.

Government Ready for Discussion on NEET: Amit Shah

The Home Minister said that the government is ready for a detailed discussion on the NEET protests. He pointed out that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has also made it clear that the government is prepared for the discussion.

According to Amit Shah, the Opposition’s initial demand was that a time be fixed for the discussion, and the government agreed to it. He said that he himself is ready to answer every question raised in Parliament, but the Opposition does not want the discussion to take place.

He said, “Now let the public decide who is running away.”

Government Ready for 24-Hour Discussion

Amit Shah asked the Opposition to submit a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker by 3 PM. He said the government is ready for a discussion on all aspects related to NEET from 3 PM today until 3 PM the following day.

The Home Minister said, “I will sit in the House, listen to everyone and respond to every issue. The government has nothing to hide.”

He also said that he is ready to discuss why the Opposition does not want the discussion to take place.

‘Let Parliament Function’: Amit Shah

Amit Shah said that the NDA government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is ready to discuss any issue.

He appealed to the Opposition to allow Parliament to function smoothly, saying, “They just need to let Parliament function.”

Following the Home Minister’s statement, the political debate over the NEET issue and the continuing parliamentary deadlock is expected to intensify further.
