“Yogi Government is Not a Double Engine but a Double Blunder Government” – Akhilesh Yadav

Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) : Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at the Yogi government, calling it a “Double Blunder Government” instead of a “Double Engine Government.” He accused the Chief Minister of spending time watching social media reels while both the state and central governments remain blind to real issues.

Akhilesh made these remarks while speaking to the media in Samdhan town. He was there to offer condolences to the family of late former chairman Haji Hasan Siddiqui. Later, he attended a family event at the residence of SP leader Akash Shakya in Kannauj.

Criticism Over Business Crackdown & Mahakumbh Mismanagement
Akhilesh also raised concerns over the recent raid on a pan masala trader in Kanpur. He stated, “When citizens are handcuffed, how will business and trade thrive? The Indian government is handing over markets to outsiders instead of boosting domestic trade.”

He also attacked the BJP government for mismanaging the Mahakumbh Mela, claiming that the administration failed despite promising facilities for 100 crore devotees. He remarked, “We are pointing out the failures and providing information, but if the government sees this as criticism, then there is no cure for them.”

Response to Keshav Maurya’s Statement
Reacting to Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s remark that no one from Mulayam Singh Yadav’s legacy would become CM till 2047, Akhilesh countered, “Even the Prime Minister has said they will remain in power till 2047. But what about the ground realities?”

He criticized the grand branding of Mahakumbh as just a promotional event, stating that while the government called it a historic event, the focus remained on “event management, social media, and celebrity promotions rather than actual arrangements for pilgrims.”

Questioning BJP’s ‘144-Year’ Kumbh Theory
Akhilesh accused the BJP of rewriting history by claiming Mahakumbh happens once in 144 years. He pointed out that, according to astrology and astronomy, Kumbh occurs every 12 years and questioned where this 144-year claim originated from.

He further stated that while crores have already bathed at Sangam, many elderly and distant travelers are still waiting. Instead of addressing these issues, the government is allegedly hiding the real number of visitors and casualties due to mismanagement.

Stampede and Railway Mismanagement
On the stampede at Delhi railway station, Akhilesh called it a government failure, questioning how a country aspiring to be a global economic leader could not even ensure safety at railway platforms. He urged both the state and central governments to provide ₹50 lakh compensation to the families of those who lost their lives in stampedes or accidents during Mahakumbh and other railway mishaps.
