Preparations Intensify for Efficient Crowd Management Ahead of Maha Shivratri, Officials Take Charge on Ground

Maha Kumbh Nagar (UP): The grand and divine celebration of Maha Kumbh 2025 is approaching its final phase. With the last major bathing festival on February 26 (Maha Shivratri), millions of devotees are flocking daily to Prayagraj to take a holy dip in the sacred waters. Following CM Yogi’s vision as a mission, the local administration has ramped up preparations for efficient crowd management ahead of the weekend rush and the final bathing festival. Detailed planning is underway to manage railway operations, traffic diversions, parking, and other logistical aspects. To ensure smooth execution and prevent any inconvenience to devotees, officials have taken charge on the ground and intensified their monitoring efforts.

Execution Based on a Structured Plan
Prayagraj District Magistrate (DM) Ravindra Mandar stated that, in line with CM Yogi’s vision, there has been a significant increase in footfall through railways, airports, and roadways, along with two-wheeler and four-wheeler parking facilities. CM Yogi had envisioned that over 500 million devotees from across the world would come to Maha Kumbh to take a holy dip. In response, a detailed framework was designed to manage the massive influx. Authorities are implementing this plan on the ground, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience for devotees. With the final bathing festival approaching, these efforts have been further intensified.

Continuous On-Field Monitoring by Officials and Staff
According to DM Ravindra Mandar, officials and staff are actively present on-site to ensure that the preparations are effectively implemented. Efforts are being made to incorporate feedback from devotees to enhance their experience. Traffic management is also a key focus, with police enforcing diversion schemes on weekends, peak days, and holidays. Police officers have been briefed and instructed to remain vigilant, and solutions are being devised for any emerging issues.

CM Yogi Personally Monitoring the Preparations
To ensure a smooth and well-coordinated experience for both devotees and locals, CM Yogi himself is overseeing the entire process. There is strong coordination between districts, particularly at city borders, to ensure seamless traffic flow. DM Mandar stated that diversions are being enforced in direct coordination with district magistrates and SPs. Senior officials, including the ADG Zone and Commissioner, are supervising the process, facilitating continuous discussions and ensuring the timely execution of all tasks.
