Jaipur Hosts IIFA Awards 2025: Kareena Kapoor Pays Tribute to Raj Kapoor

Jaipur (Rajasthan): The IIFA Awards 2025 held in Jaipur witnessed the presence of several Bollywood legends, including Rekha and Shah Rukh Khan. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was Kareena Kapoor’s heartfelt tribute to her grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor.

Kareena performed on iconic songs from Raj Kapoor’s classic film ‘Shree 420’, including ‘Pyaar Hua Iqraar Hua’ and ‘Mera Joota Hai Japani’. In a stunning recreation, she even donned Raj Kapoor’s iconic look while dancing to the timeless track. Her performance video has since gone viral on social media, drawing immense appreciation from fans.

Expressing her excitement about returning to the IIFA stage, Kareena said, “I am thrilled to be back on the IIFA stage after many years, and what better occasion than their silver jubilee edition! In a way, IIFA and I have journeyed together—we both are celebrating 25 years in cinema.”

She further added, “This performance is incredibly special to me as it is dedicated to my grandfather, Raj Kapoor. The entire country recently celebrated his 100th birth anniversary with love and admiration. Honoring his legacy on this grand stage fills me with immense pride. Being part of this journey of family, heritage, and cinema is truly surreal.”

Kareena’s emotional tribute left the audience teary-eyed, bringing back cherished memories of Raj Kapoor’s cinematic greatness.

Meanwhile, at the IIFA Awards 2025, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ won the Best Film award. Nitanshi Goel (Laapataa Ladies) bagged the Best Actress award, while Kartik Aaryan (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3) won Best Actor. The Best Director award was given to Kiran Rao for Laapataa Ladies.
