JPSC Chairman Pays Courtesy Visit to Chief Minister Hemant Soren

Ranchi (Jharkhand) : Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Chairman L. Khiangte met Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday. The courtesy meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road, where they discussed various issues.

It is noteworthy that former Chief Secretary L. Khiangte was appointed as the new JPSC Chairman on February 27. The state government had proposed his name, which was swiftly approved by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar. The position of JPSC Chairman had been vacant for six months after Dr. Mary Neelima Kerketta retired on August 22, 2024.

L. Khiangte is a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Jharkhand cadre. He cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 1987. Originally from Mizoram, Khiangte belongs to the tribal community. He has served as Jharkhand’s Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), along with holding several other key positions. He was also the Director General of the Administrative Training Institute (ATI).

The newly appointed JPSC Chairman holds a graduate degree in History.
