Prime Minister Narendra Modi Conferred with Brazil’s Highest Civilian Honour
New Delhi : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been conferred with Brazil’s highest national honour for foreign dignitaries — The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross. The prestigious award was presented by the President of Brazil, His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Prime Minister Modi thanked the President, the Government, and the people of Brazil. He stated that the honour belongs to the 1.4 billion people of India and symbolises the enduring friendship between India and Brazil. Prime Minister Modi also highlighted President Lula’s significant role in shaping the India-Brazil strategic partnership, calling him one of the key architects of bilateral relations. He said the award reflects recognition of the President’s consistent efforts to elevate the partnership to new heights.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that this recognition will further inspire the people of both nations to strengthen their bonds of friendship and cooperation.
