Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Big Statement: “Voter List Purification Essential, Opposition Dependent on Bogus Votes”

New Delhi/Patna: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has responded to the recent uproar in the Assembly and the controversy surrounding the voter list. He stated, “Every action has a reaction, but it is important to see what the protest is really about.” He emphasized that voter list purification is a continuous and necessary process for democracy, where the Election Commission is only removing deceased and duplicate voters.

Targeting opposition parties, Manjhi said, “Those who are protesting are the ones who have historically relied on bogus votes to win elections.” He cited the example of Jharkhand, where a similar voter list correction process is underway.

Responding to allegations of appeasement against the BJP, Manjhi hit back, saying, “Those who used fear to secure votes are now panicking.” On the CAG report, he clarified that the government is fully prepared to respond.

He also praised Chirag Paswan’s recent show of strength and supported his decision to contest from a general seat.

Through this statement, Manjhi has clearly indicated that the government will not back down from efforts to make the voter list more transparent, even if the opposition tries to politicize the issue.
