Nextrà by Airtel Expands Green Energy Footprint with AMPIN Energy

Gurugram :  Nextrà by Airtel has partnered with AMPIN Energy Transition to secure 125.65 MW of hybrid solar-wind energy through a new power wheeling agreement linked to Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) plants. This collaboration pushes their total renewable energy partnership beyond 200 MW, strengthening Nextrà’s commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and decarbonization. Ashish Arora, CEO of Nextrà by Airtel, emphasized sustainability as a responsibility and opportunity. Pinaki Bhattacharyya, CEO of AMPIN, highlighted the ability to transition clients fully to green energy. Nextrà, a member of RE100 since June 2024, is India’s first data center to commit 100% to renewable power.

The energy will be delivered in two phases via captive projects in Rajasthan and Karnataka. AMPIN is already supplying solar power to Nextrà in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha via intra-state open access. Under the new agreement, AMPIN will expand to 11 more states, ensuring seamless green energy delivery as a single Independent Power Producer (IPP).
