₹36.93 Crore Sanctioned for Construction of Jhalera–Ghaluwal Bridge Over Swan River
Una : In a significant step toward infrastructure development in Una district, the Central Government has sanctioned ₹36.93 crore for the construction of a two-lane bridge over the Swan River between Jhalera and Ghaluwal in the Haroli Assembly constituency. This information was shared by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, in the Rajya Sabha in response to a query by MP Smt. Indu Bala Goswami. The approval for the project was granted in March 2025, and the bridge is expected to greatly improve road connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the region.
Shri Gadkari also informed the House that a plan to develop a four-lane national highway from the Punjab border to Jhalera has been included in the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The construction will proceed based on the feasibility report and in alignment with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, ensuring better regional connectivity and infrastructure integration.
