Raksha Bandhan Celebrations Across the Nation, PM Modi and Other Leaders Extend Greetings

New Delhi: Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm across the country today. Symbolizing the unbreakable bond of love and trust between brothers and sisters, the festival is marked by sisters tying rakhis on their brothers’ wrists and exchanging sweets. Markets have been bustling with activity since morning, and heavy crowds were seen in public transport facilities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, saying that this sacred festival further strengthens the bonds of love, affection, and brotherhood in society. He wished for happiness and prosperity in everyone’s lives.

President, Vice President, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers of various states also conveyed their wishes to citizens through social media platforms and official messages. Opposition leaders, too, highlighted the significance of the festival in strengthening sibling bonds and its importance in Indian culture.

Railway stations and bus terminals saw a surge of passengers, as many traveled long distances to spend the day with their brothers and sisters. Sweet shops and rakhi stalls also reported brisk sales.

Raksha Bandhan not only fortifies familial relationships but also reinforces the thread of trust and mutual cooperation in society.

On the occasion, women in Khatima tied rakhis to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant celebrated Raksha Bandhan at his residence in Sankhali, where women tied rakhis to him. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended a Raksha Bandhan program at Raj Bhavan, where he also received rakhis from women.
