Election Commission Issues Notice to MP Veena Devi and Her Husband Over Names in Two Voter Lists
Patna (Bihar) : The Election Commission has issued a notice to Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Veena Devi and her husband, Dinesh Prasad Singh, questioning how their names were registered in the voter lists of two different assembly constituencies. Both have been directed to submit their responses by 5:00 PM on August 16, 2025.
According to the notice issued by the Electoral Registration Officer of the 94-Muzaffarpur Assembly constituency, the draft electoral roll for the Special Summary Revision 2025 shows that Dinesh Prasad Singh’s name appears in both Booth 325 of the 98-Sahibganj Assembly constituency (EPIC No. UTO1134527) and Booth 371 of the 94-Muzaffarpur Assembly constituency (EPIC No. REM0933267).
Similarly, MP Veena Devi’s name is listed in Booth 325 of the 98-Sahibganj Assembly constituency (EPIC No. UTO1134543) and Booth 371 of the 94-Muzaffarpur Assembly constituency (EPIC No. GSB1037894).
The move comes after Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, alleged irregularities late last night and demanded an explanation from the Election Commission. Following his remarks, the Commission has now formally sought clarification from both individuals.
