SP-Congress Plotted to Change Demography in Sambhal: CM Yogi
Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday launched a sharp attack on the opposition during a public rally in Pratapgarh. Referring to the judicial commission’s report on the 2024 Sambhal violence, CM Yogi alleged that during the regimes of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress, Hindus were deliberately targeted. “At that time, conspiracies were hatched to reduce the Hindu population and change the demography. Today, under the double-engine government, we will never allow such divisive politics. Anyone who tries to alter the state’s demography will be forced to migrate themselves,” he declared.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering during the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of 186 development projects worth ₹570 crore. He said that the pace of development has rattled the opposition. Calling the SP-Congress alliance an “Anti-India alliance,” CM Yogi claimed, “This alliance plays with India’s honor and divides the country on caste and religious lines. Whenever they were in power, they nurtured mafias, promoted hooliganism, and snatched the rights of the poor. Now, the people have rejected them.”
‘PM Modi is the World’s Most Popular Leader; Abusive Remarks Are Like Spitting at the Sun’
Criticizing the opposition over recent derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at the INDIA bloc rally in Bihar, CM Yogi said:
“Such comments are a reflection of their frustration. Those who use such language do not deserve a place in politics. They must realize that PM Modi is the world’s most popular leader, and abusing him is like spitting at the sun—it only falls back on them. Today, 1.4 billion Indians feel insulted by their words.”
Yogi added that the double-engine government is moving ahead with the principle of empowerment through satisfaction, not appeasement. He highlighted that in the last eight years, over six crore people have been lifted out of poverty.
‘Double-Engine Government Ended Mafia Rule’
The CM claimed that under previous governments, every district had its own mafia who looted development funds and snatched the rights of the poor. “Today, the double-engine government has replaced mafia raj with One District One Product and One District One Medical College. Pratapgarh’s amla (gooseberry) is now exported worldwide, the Sonelal Patel Medical College has been established, and connectivity projects like the Ganga Expressway are accelerating growth,” he said.
Yogi praised local farmers for giving the state a new identity with amla cultivation, and mentioned the contribution of Pratapgarh’s freedom fighters and traditional sweets like rasmalai. “With the blessings of Maa Belha Devi, Pratapgarh is reaching new heights of development,” he added.
He said projects worth ₹263 crore were inaugurated and projects worth ₹306 crore were laid down, strengthening healthcare, education, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship.
‘Those Who Attack Women Will Meet Yamraj at the Next Crossroad’
Highlighting women’s safety, CM Yogi asserted, “Anyone who dares to dishonor a daughter will find Yamraj waiting at the next crossroad.” He mentioned the recruitment of 60,244 police personnel, including over 12,000 women, and 2,425 main supervisors in the Women and Child Development Department. He emphasized schemes like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Kanya Sumangala, and mass marriage programs that are making women self-reliant.
Sports Colleges in Every Commissionary
On the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary, CM Yogi recalled how PM Modi honored him by renaming the national sports award after him. He announced that while a Sports University is coming up in Meerut, every commissionary in Uttar Pradesh will soon have a sports college. Pratapgarh, he added, will also see the development of stadiums and smart city facilities to promote local sports talent.
