September Shines at the Box Office: PVR INOX Announces Weekend of Wonders

New Delhi : September is shaping up to be a strong month for cinema. The festive week has already seen audiences return in high numbers, with Hindi blockbusters, Malayalam hits, Tamil releases, and Hollywood thrillers all drawing impressive footfalls. Action spectacle Bhaagi 4 opened with solid occupancy, Malayalam title Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra topped charts with 74%, and Onam release Hridaya Poorvaam struck a chord with families. Tamil film Madharasi made a promising start, while Hollywood horror The Conjuring: The Last Rites pulled genre fans in big numbers. Together, these films have created a vibrant mix across languages and genres, signalling a festive season packed with energy.

Riding on this momentum, PVR INOX is now rolling out Weekend of Wonders – a showcase of six films that promise something new for everyone walking into cinemas.

At the heart of the line-up is Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, closing the chapter on one of Britain’s most loved stories. Adding depth from closer home, The Heer Express tells a Punjabi story of hope and belonging set against the backdrop of migration. Anime fans get their big moment with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle, coming in IMAX with visuals that have already broken records in Japan.

 

 

The line-up shifts gears with The Long Walk, a chilling survival drama adapted from Stephen King. Lighter notes come in with Ek Chatur Naar, a comedy-thriller that blends laughs with intrigue. The grand finish is Mirai, a Telugu fantasy epic that packs futuristic action, mythological themes, and large-scale spectacle.
