President Murmu Attends Awards Ceremony of 64th National Art Exhibition

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu participated in the awards ceremony of the 64th National Art Exhibition, organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi on 24 September 2025.

In her address, the President congratulated all the award winners and expressed confidence that their work would inspire fellow artists. She emphasized that in the Indian tradition, art has long been regarded as a spiritual pursuit. Art is not only a medium of aesthetic expression but also a powerful tool to enrich cultural heritage and foster a more sensitive society. She expressed delight that artists are presenting the vision of a new India through their ideas, perspectives, and imagination.

President Murmu highlighted that artists invest their time, energy, and resources in creating art, and the proper valuation of their work will encourage both artists and those aspiring to take up art professionally. She appreciated the Lalit Kala Akademi’s efforts to promote the sale of artworks, noting that it will provide financial support to artists and strengthen the creative economy.

She urged art enthusiasts not only to appreciate the artworks but also to take them home, emphasizing that collectively, everyone should work towards enhancing India’s identity as both an economic and cultural powerhouse.
