Rani Mukerji Becomes the Voice of Cyber Awareness, Joins Campaign Straight from ‘Mardaani 3’ Shoot

Mumbai : Actress Rani Mukerji attended the inauguration of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 on Friday, October 3, at the State Police Headquarters. Known for her powerful role as a strong police officer in the women-centric hit franchise Mardaani, Rani shared the stage with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State Police Director General Rashmi Shukla, and Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Iqbal Singh Chahal (IPS).

During the event, Rani expressed deep concern over the rising cyber crimes targeting women and children, and lauded the Maharashtra Police Cyber Cell as “unsung heroes” who work tirelessly to make the digital world safer.

Speaking at the event, Rani said, “It is a great honor for me to be part of the inauguration of Cyber Awareness Month. In films, I have often portrayed characters who fight injustice, and standing here today, I feel that journey somehow connects with reality. In fact, I came here directly from the shoot of Mardaani 3, which makes this moment even more special.”

She emphasized that cyber crimes are silently growing within our homes. “As a woman and a mother, I understand how crucial awareness is. Real security is possible only when families are vigilant and know where to seek help.”

Rani also highlighted the state government helplines (1930 and 1945), noting that these numbers have become lifelines for citizens. “As an actor, I bring stories to life on screen, but as a citizen and a mother, I want no child or woman to face fear alone.”

Concluding her speech, Rani urged everyone to stay alert, raise their voices, and actively contribute to creating a safe digital society.

Rani Mukerji will next be seen in Mardaani 3, produced under the Yash Raj Films banner and directed by Abhiraj Meenawala. The film is slated for release on February 27, 2026.
