Karnataka Government Should Refrain From Restricting Hindu Saints’ Travels: VHP

New Delhi : Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Central General Secretary Shri Bajrang Bagra stated today that the approximately 1300-year-old Kadasiddheshwar Math in Kaneri, Maharashtra, is a center of faith and belief for the Veerashaiva Lingayat community. Extremely worrying news has come from Karnataka that the state government has restricted the movement of the revered Hindu Lingayat head of this Math, Shri Adrishya Kadasiddheshwar Maharaj Ji, within several districts of Karnataka, imposing a district ban on his travel. Pujya Maharaj Ji is being prevented from visiting his own Maths in Karnataka. This is a completely unjustified and unacceptable politically motivated interference by the state government in the religious affairs of the Hindu community. It is also an insult to the entire Veerashaiva Lingayat community.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad demands that the state government immediately withdraw this prohibitory order and neither interfere in the religious affairs of the Hindu community in any way, nor impose any type of restrictions on the travels of great Hindu saints.
