Elon Musk’s Satellite Internet Service ‘Starlink’ to Launch Soon in India

New Delhi: Elon Musk’s satellite internet service company Starlink is set to begin its operations in India soon. The company will conduct a demo run on October 30 and 31 in Mumbai, showcasing its technological capabilities and network performance.
According to a report by PTI, Starlink will use provisional spectrum temporarily allotted to it during the demo. This step marks a significant regulatory milestone toward the company’s official rollout of services in India.
Sources said that government investigative agencies — including the police, cyber security, and the Department of Telecommunications — will closely monitor the demo to assess Starlink’s data encryption, user tracking, and other security standards.
Additionally, the demo will evaluate Starlink’s connection stability, internet speed, latency, and overall connectivity performance.
Experts believe that if the demo proves successful, it will pave the way for the launch of high-speed satellite internet services in India, potentially transforming internet access in rural and remote regions by providing seamless and reliable connectivity.
