Heavy Rain Alert Issued in Uttar Pradesh, Warning for 17 Districts

Lucknow: Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh are set to change as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 17 districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The forecast also includes the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in several areas.

The districts under alert include Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Sultanpur, and Ambedkar Nagar.

The IMD has advised residents to exercise caution, avoid open spaces and sheltering under trees, and stay indoors during lightning or heavy rainfall. The local administration has instructed disaster management teams to remain on high alert to provide immediate assistance in case of any emergency.

Weather experts say the upcoming rainfall is likely to bring down temperatures across the state, but may also lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and an increased risk of lightning incidents.
