“Practicing to Sink in Bihar Elections…”: PM Modi Takes a Sharp Dig at Rahul Gandhi’s Pond Dive

Sitamarhi (Bihar) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a sharp jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, mocking his recent act of jumping into a pond while interacting with fishermen in Bihar. Addressing a massive election rally in Sitamarhi ahead of the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, PM Modi indirectly targeted Rahul Gandhi without naming him. He said, “Big leaders are now coming to Bihar and diving into water to catch fish. They are practicing how to drown — in the elections of Bihar.”
Earlier this week, during an interaction with the fishing community in Begusarai, Rahul Gandhi had jumped into a muddy pond. He rowed a boat to the center and then dived in with local fishermen. Former state minister Mukesh Sahani and Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar were also present with him during the event.
Speaking about the first phase of polling, PM Modi said the people of Bihar had given a strong message through their votes. “In the first phase, the ‘jungle raj’ people have received a 65-volt shock. The youth of Bihar have chosen development, they have chosen the NDA. The women of Bihar have ensured a record victory for the NDA,” he asserted.
Paying tribute to the holy land of Sitamarhi, PM Modi said, “It is my great fortune to visit the sacred land of Mother Sita. I remember this very day in 2019 when I came here before leaving for Punjab to inaugurate the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. The very next day, the Supreme Court delivered its verdict on Ayodhya. I had prayed to Mother Sita that the judgment should be in favor of Lord Ram — and as we know, prayers made on the land of Sita Maiya never go unanswered.”
Amid huge crowds and enthusiastic supporters, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the people of Bihar would once again give a decisive mandate in favor of the NDA, ensuring the continuation of development and stability in the state.
