Allocation of Portfolios in Haryana: CM Saini Holds 12 Departments, Anil Vij Gets Transport, Labour, and Energy

Chandigarh: Haryana ministers were allocated portfolios late Sunday night. The Chief Minister, Nayab Saini, retained the CID department, which had been a contentious issue during the previous Manohar government. As per protocol, Anil Vij is the second in command but has been assigned relatively moderate departments. Ministers Arvind Sharma, Mahipal Dhanda, and Rao Narbir have each been given four departments.

According to the notification issued by the Haryana government at 11:55 PM on Sunday, Chief Minister Nayab Saini has retained a total of 12 departments. These include the Home Department, Finance, Excise and Taxation, Planning, Urban and Rural Development, Information and Public Relations, Prosecution, General Administration, Housing for All, CID, Personnel and Training, and the Law and Legislative Department. Additionally, all unassigned departments will remain under the Chief Minister.

Cabinet Minister Anil Vij has been allocated the Transport, Labour, and Energy Departments. Krishna Lal Panwar has been given the Panchayati Raj and Development, Mines and Geology departments. Rao Narbir has been assigned the Industries and Commerce, Environment and Forests, Foreign Cooperation, and Sainik and Para-Military Welfare departments. Cabinet Minister Mahipal Dhanda will oversee Education, Higher Education, Parliamentary Affairs, and Archives. Vipul Goel has been assigned the Revenue and Disaster Management, Urban Local Bodies, and Civil Aviation departments. Arvind Sharma has been given the Cooperation, Jail, Election, Heritage, and Tourism departments.

Cabinet Minister Shyam Singh Rana has been allocated the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Fisheries departments.

Similarly, Cabinet Minister Ranbir Gangwa will manage Public Health Engineering and Public Works departments. Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi has been entrusted with Social Justice and Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare, Antyodaya (Service), Hospitality, and Architecture departments. Cabinet Minister Shruti Choudhary has been given the Women and Child Development, Irrigation, and Water Resources departments. Aarti Rao will oversee the Health, Medical Education and Research, and AYUSH departments. Rajesh Nagar, as Minister of State (Independent Charge), will manage the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (Independent Charge), Printing and Stationery (Independent Charge). Gaurav Gautam, Minister of State, will handle Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge), Sports (Independent Charge), and will assist the Chief Minister in the Law and Legislative Department.
