India Inspiring Hope in a World of Concerns: Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated today that India is inspiring hope in a world plagued by various concerns and is working at an unprecedented pace in every sector. He mentioned that due to the speed of work during their third term, several agencies have revised their growth forecasts for India.

Speaking at the “World Summit 2024: The India Century,” organized by a private news channel in New Delhi, the Prime Minister noted that many topics would be discussed during the summit. Global leaders from different sectors would also share their views. He said that over the past 4-5 years, most discussions have revolved around concerns about the future. During the pandemic, the world worried about managing the global health crisis. As COVID-19 spread, concerns arose about the global economy. The pandemic further heightened worries about inflation and unemployment. Climate change was already a concern, but the wars that followed added to the anxieties.

He emphasized that while the world faces uncertainties, India shines as a beacon of hope. Although India has its own challenges, there is a shared sense of positivity towards the country.

Reflecting on the development over the past decade, the Prime Minister highlighted that 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty in the last 10 years. He mentioned the construction of approximately 120 million toilets and the provision of gas connections to 160 million people. Over the same period, India has established more than 350 medical colleges and over 15 AIIMS institutions. Additionally, the country has seen the rise of over 150,000 new startups, with 80 million young people taking out Mudra loans to start their own businesses for the first time.
