BJP Leaders Protest Against Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ Scandal
New Delhi: BJP leaders, led by state president Virender Sachdeva, organized a massive protest outside the residence of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. The protesters demanded an explanation from Kejriwal regarding the alleged extravagant spending on the controversial ‘Sheesh Mahal’ bungalow.
The protest, which was in response to the ongoing scandals related to the Sheesh Mahal, saw participation from Virender Sachdeva, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and BJP MPs from Delhi.
The protesters pointed out that documents from the Public Works Department (PWD) revealed that Kejriwal failed to hand over expensive items worth crores of rupees when he vacated his residence at 6 Flagstaff Road.
BJP leader Kailash Gehlot said, “We are here to protest against the Sheesh Mahal issue. When I wrote to Arvind Kejriwal, I clearly mentioned that the controversy surrounding the Sheesh Mahal is truly unfortunate. It is an example of compromising on his core principles.”
He further added, “I believe that this time, BJP will form the government in Delhi. People are frustrated because no work has been done — sewage systems are overflowing, there is a shortage of drinking water, and the roads are in a terrible condition. I am confident that the people of Delhi will elect BJP this time.”
