Ghantewala reopens after nearly a decade

New Delhi: The centuries-old legendary outlet, Ghantewala is reopening its door for customers after a long hiatus. Though the outlet has not been operational since 2015, the nostalgia and love for Ghantewala have always been alive among its patrons. This finally motivated Sushant Jain and Aryan Jain to revive the brand and bring Ghantewala back to the people. The completely newly designed outlet in Chandni Chowk is all set to woo customers back with their very popular delicacies that once were a favorite among India’s distinguished class, common people as well as foreigners across the globe.

Established in 1790 by Lala Sukh Lal Jain, the eyeconic outlet was more of an emotion for people of yesteryears. Today, Aryan Jain and Sushant Jain, the father-son duo of the Jain family have taken it upon themselves to bring back the same authentic flavor and culinary excellence. The mission of Ghantewala in this new avatar is to modernize the techniques of creating and operating while keeping in touch with the roots of the business. The new outlet balances tradition and innovation and aims to concentrate on the authenticity of the taste and traditions of the brand while continuously adopting innovation and technology as one of the key aspects of the business.

Sushant Jain, Director of Ghantewala said, “I grew up surrounded by festivities, sweets, and celebrations, thanks to the legacy crafted by my forefathers. I was raised on stories of the legendary Ghantewala, a family tradition of over 200 years old. Today, it is a matter of pride for me that the family business is returning in a new avatar, with my son Aryan Jain, the 8th-generation custodian, leading the way by revamping the brand into a modern QSR. This revival is not just a testament to a continued legacy but also a promise to serve patrons with the best quality and experience.”

Ghantewala has always been known for their signature delicacies that included the very popular Sohan Halwa, Karachi Halwa, Aloo Laccha, Mysore Pak, Dalmoth, Pista Lauj, Roasted and Plain Kaju, Roasted and Plain Badaam, Shahi Mixture and more. The brand ensures the use of natural ingredients in their recipes by using lab tested products that certifies and guarantees the authenticity of the ingredients. Also, as always the brand will continue to use desi ghee for all their preparations. This represents one of the trust pillars between the patrons and the brand for over 200 years, and the brand will remain true to its customers by using the purest of desi ghee to deliver the best of quality to its customers.

Mr. Aryan Jain, Director of Ghantewala, sharing his excitement at the opening, quoted, “As a child I stood in awe of my father, watching him with admiration as he upheld the family’s legacy. Inspired by him, I developed a passion for the hospitality industry and took a degree from the Institute of Hotel Management. Now, as a young entrepreneur, I am excited to reopen the family’s over two centuries-old establishment, determined to honor its rich history while infusing it with new energy. The idea is to preserve a piece of heritage and build a future that resonates with both tradition and modernity.”

Going forward after this mega relaunch, Ghantewala will prioritize consistency and listen to the needs of the customers with a vision to have a strong global presence and make Ghantewala people’s choice. Though expansion towards trade commerce remains a step for the future, Ghantewala will continue to build its global presence through the use of social media and having a strong word of mouth as it is believed that communication is a key in delivering promises, ensuring that the Ghantewala brand continues to stand for unflinching trust and exceptional quality.
