Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0: Exhibition Showcasing BHU’s Glorious Legacy, Scientific Achievements, and Knowledge Traditions at Namo Ghat

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): As the city of Varanasi immerses itself in the grand celebration of the rich cultures and civilizations of Kashi and Kanchi, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is marking this historic occasion with a special exhibition at Namo Ghat. The university is showcasing its glorious legacy, scientific achievements, research, innovations, and knowledge traditions through this exhibition.

The Institute of Medical Sciences is presenting various exhibits under Ayurvedic Pharmacy, displaying medicinal formulations, while the Dravyaguna Department is exhibiting medicinal plants used in Ayurvedic medicine production. The Kriya Sharir Department is demonstrating Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis) and personalized diet recommendations based on body composition.

A key attraction of the exhibition is the Hydrogen Stove and Hydrogen-Powered Motorcycle, developed by the Department of Physics, Institute of Science. University representatives are demonstrating the functionality of these innovations. The “H2 Vehicle” prototype is based on advanced hydrogen fuel cell technology, offering zero-carbon emissions. This technology brings Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s vision of making Kashi a “Hydrogen City” closer to reality.

The Institute of Agricultural Sciences is showcasing its research innovations and BHU hybrid seeds, which are helping farmers improve agricultural productivity.

The Faculty of Dental Sciences is presenting advanced dental solutions, including reconstructive treatments for tooth decay, microsurgical procedures, scaling, and root planing for periodontal diseases. The exhibition also features modern dental procedures such as root canal treatments, dental implants, and onlay and inlay restorations.

Additionally, the Faculty of Visual Arts is exhibiting special artworks themed around Sage Agastya, in line with Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0. Other major highlights of the exhibition include significant DNA research by the Department of Zoology and an engaging DNA-based comic developed by scientists and researchers from the Center for Genetic Disorders.
