Launch of ‘Run for Inclusion’ Event by Special Olympics Bharat in Delhi
New Delhi: The ‘Run for Inclusion’ event organized by Special Olympics Bharat began on Saturday, running from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. This program aims to bring together individuals with intellectual abilities and disabilities.
Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, joined by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and Bansuri Swaraj, flagged off the event dedicated to promoting sports for athletes with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Organized by the national sports federation, Special Olympics Bharat (SOB), the event highlighted inclusivity through sports.
The run started at the Central Civil Services Ground in Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, with around 10,000 participants from the Delhi NCR area taking part in the 3-kilometer race. The main theme, “Each One, Reach One,” emphasized the importance of inclusivity.
During the event, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, saying, “There is no doubt that Arvind Kejriwal never truly considered the welfare of Delhi’s people. He got caught up in his personal comfort, his family’s comfort, and in ‘lies and loot.’ Now, I believe the people of Delhi will seek justice and distance themselves from such individuals.”
Commenting on Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s padyatra, Tiwari added, “Weakening the country’s Constitution and democracy and empowering anti-national elements has become Congress’s policy.”
