Mixed Signals from Global Markets, Mixed Trading in Asia
New Delhi : Mixed signals are coming from the global market today. The US markets closed with mixed trading during the previous session. Dow Jones futures are showing slight fluctuations and are trading flat. However, the European markets saw a generally positive trading atmosphere during the previous session. On the other hand, Asian markets are witnessing mixed trading today.
In the US markets, mixed trading was observed during the previous session. Dow Jones managed to close with a gain of 123 points. Similarly, the S&P 500 index ended the previous session with a slight gain of 0.03%, closing at 6,068.50 points. In contrast, the Nasdaq closed with a decline of 0.36%, ending at 19,642.78 points. Dow Jones futures are currently trading with a marginal decline of 0.01%, at 44,589.64 points.
In the European markets, buying activity continued during the previous session. The FTSE index closed up by 0.11%, at 8,777.39 points. Similarly, the CAC index ended the previous session with a gain of 0.28%, at 8,028.90 points. Additionally, the DAX index jumped by 126.09 points, or 0.57%, closing at 22,037.83 points.
Asian markets are witnessing mixed trading today. Out of 9 Asian markets, 4 indices are trading in the green with gains, while 4 indices are in the red with losses. The SET Composite Index in Thailand is inactive today due to a public holiday.
Currently, the Gift Nifty is trading with a decline of 125 points, or 0.54%, at 23,002.50 points. Similarly, the Straits Times index has slipped by 0.07%, reaching 3,858 points. The Taiwan Weighted Index has fallen by 0.04%, reaching 23,374.91 points, and the Shanghai Composite Index is showing a minor decline of 0.01%, trading at 3,317.83 points.
On the other hand, the Nikkei index has risen by 0.19%, reaching 38,874.81 points. Similarly, the KOSPI index is trading with a gain of 0.24%, at 2,545.23 points. The Hang Seng index has shown strong gains today. Currently, the index is up by 327.15 points, or 1.54%, at 21,622.01 points. Additionally, the Jakarta Composite Index has risen by 0.71%, reaching 6,578.55 points.
