Opposition Slams Alleged Classroom Construction Scam in Delhi Assembly; Atishi Calls It a “Fake Case” and a BJP Ploy to Distract from Failures

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the alleged classroom construction scam raised in the Delhi Assembly. AAP leader and former Education Minister Atishi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, has termed the matter a “political conspiracy” by the BJP.

Speaking on the issue, Atishi said, “Former minister Manish Sisodia has been summoned for questioning in a fake classroom scam case. This is just another in a long list of fabricated cases filed by the BJP. In the last 10 years, the BJP government and its various agencies have filed over 200 cases against AAP leaders—yet, despite numerous raids and investigations, not a single rupee of corrupt money has been recovered from any AAP leader.”

Atishi further alleged that the BJP has completely failed in governance, and is now using such investigations to divert public attention from its own shortcomings.
“Whether it’s waterlogging, power outages, or skyrocketing school fees—BJP has failed on every front. And now, when questions are raised, they resort to vendetta politics,” she said.

She also emphasized that the BJP is trying to malign the work done to improve Delhi’s government schools through false accusations.
“The classroom construction was part of a model education system that was praised globally. BJP fears this model because it has failed to deliver anything comparable,” Atishi asserted.

According to AAP leaders, this investigation is an attempt to undermine the AAP government’s popularity and trap its leaders in false cases. The party reiterated that it will comply with all legal procedures but will not bow down to what it called BJP’s oppressive tactics.
