PM Modi Performs Rituals at Akshay Vat for the Success of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj

Mahakumbh Nagar (UP): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, taking the role of a ceremonial host, performed prayers at the sacred Akshay Vat on Friday for the successful organization of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The prayers aimed at global welfare, world peace, and the spiritual upliftment of millions of devotees visiting the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.

PM Modi offered prayers at the Sangam Nose as the ceremonial host, performed the sacred Sangam Abhishek, and paid his respects at Akshay Vat. He prayed for the success of Mahakumbh 2025, invoked blessings from all holy sites, and lit a lamp as a symbol of faith and universal goodwill. After the rituals, he circumambulated Akshay Vat and prayed for the welfare of humanity.

In addition to the spiritual rituals, PM Modi reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects related to the Akshay Vat Corridor. He focused on ensuring seamless experiences for the millions of devotees expected to visit during Mahakumbh.

Akshay Vat: Symbol of Eternal Merit for India
Akshay Vat is considered a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, the protector of Prayagraj. The sacred site has been restructured as part of PM Modi’s vision and CM Yogi Adityanath’s efficient implementation for Mahakumbh 2025. During the rituals, PM Modi prayed for the enduring spiritual and moral strength of India and its emergence as a global leader.

Worship of Divine Trinity and Eternal Entities
It is believed that Akshay Vat embodies the essence of the Divine Trinity: Lord Brahma resides in its roots, Lord Vishnu in the middle, and Lord Shiva at its canopy. The site is also revered as a fragment of the mythical Kalpavriksha, associated with the 14 divine treasures obtained during the Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Ocean).

Historically, Akshay Vat endured challenges during the Mughal and British eras but remained a steadfast symbol of Sanatan Dharma. According to legends, Lord Rama, accompanied by Sita and Lakshmana, paid homage to Akshay Vat on their return from Lanka. The sacred tree also hosts idols of these three divine figures for worship.

During the ceremonies, PM Modi was accompanied by CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel, emphasizing the sanctity of the occasion and the government’s commitment to the grand success of Mahakumbh 2025.
