Putin Wants to Promote Indian Films in Russia
New Delhi : Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his desire to promote Indian films in Russia. Indian movies are already quite popular in Russia, and the country even has a dedicated TV channel that broadcasts Indian films.
While addressing leaders of major media houses from BRICS countries, Vladimir Putin mentioned that Indian films are the most popular in Russia. “We have a special TV channel that airs Indian movies 24/7. We have a great interest in Indian films. We have organized the BRICS Film Festival, and this year, the Moscow International Film Festival will showcase films from BRICS countries. We are optimistic that, given India’s interest in films, we will find common ground to promote them further in Russia,” he stated. He also spoke about enhancing cooperation with India in the pharmaceutical sector and mentioned that he would discuss this with Prime Minister Modi.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address, Putin said that BRICS is not against anyone. “Prime Minister Modi rightly pointed out that BRICS is not an anti-Western group but a group without the West.” He added that BRICS focuses on shared values, development, and mutual interests. “BRICS signifies the emergence of new development centers in the world and will define future economic growth. The Eurozone countries are on the verge of economic recession, which will ultimately benefit BRICS.”
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi will visit Russia on October 22 and 23 to attend the BRICS leaders’ summit.
