Important Advisory for Travellers Heading to the Middle East

New Delhi: Rising military tensions between the United States, Israel and Iran in West Asia (the Middle East) are now beginning to impact international air travel from India. In view of the evolving situation, Indira Gandhi International Airport issued an important passenger advisory at 9:00 AM on March 11, 2026.
According to the advisory released by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), ongoing geopolitical developments in West Asia may lead to delays or rescheduling of westbound international flights. Passengers have therefore been advised to verify all flight-related information before leaving for the airport.
Airport authorities have urged travellers to check the latest status of their flights by contacting their respective airlines before heading to the airport. In particular, passengers flying with airlines such as Air India, IndiGo and Emirates are advised to stay updated with their ticket details and flight schedules in advance.
Passengers can also visit the official Delhi Airport website to access real-time updates regarding their flights and any schedule changes.
The airport authority further stated that travellers facing immigration-related issues can reach out to the concerned authorities for assistance. An email support facility has also been provided for passengers to submit queries or complaints.
Experts believe that the escalating tensions in West Asia could affect global aviation routes, as many international flights pass through the region’s airspace. Travellers are therefore strongly advised to stay informed about their flight status before departing for the airport to avoid inconvenience.
